Hi Barry,
How do you wind down and relax after doing your fabulous shows in
Las Vegas? What do you do for fun and relaxation?
Susan
Hi Susan
My band, singers, crew and I all get together in the Green Room
after each show to wind down. We listen to music, discuss the
show and the audience, greet guests and laugh a lot.

Dear Barry,
What was your inspiration in the making of "Music and Passion" at
the Las Vegas Hilton and how does it make you feel seeing all those
people in the audience?
Linda
Hi Linda,
My focus on creating "Music and Passion" was gratitude
for still being able to make the music I love so much, for still
having an audience that cares to hear it, and for still having
my hair! I ask my lighting designer, Seth Jackson, to bring up the audience
lights at the end of the show so I can see them more clearly. Their
smiling faces make all of the effort worthwhile.

Hello Barry!
I was talking with my 15 year-old son, David, tonight and I asked
him what he would ask you if given the opportunity to talk to
you face to face. He immediately said he would ask the following: "What
is it like to be SO famous?" If you could answer this for
my wonderful and dear son, you would make his day! Thanks Barry!
A Forever Fan,
Karen
Hi Karen!
Ninety percent of the time I forget that I'm SO famous! I think
of myself as a lucky musician/singer. If I start to act "famous," someone
will slap me down. I hope.
All best,
Barry

Dear Barry,
I love all of your talented
musicians and singers! Especially Kye, he is an awesome dancer!
Where did you find him?
Pat
Hi Pat,
Kye Bracket is one of the most talented human beings I've ever
worked with as well as being one of the finest. I met him during
auditions for my "Showstoppers" tour. He was part
of that show and we've stayed friends and colleagues ever since.
He sings, dances, is riotously funny, and choreographs and
stages all of us. An amazing person as well as an amazing talent.
I'm very fortunate to know him.

Hi Barry,
Have you been enjoying your time in Vegas and have you written
any new songs since you been there?
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
I've been loving my time at the Hilton. I look forward to each
show. The only song I've had the time to write was a creepy little
ditty for a CD based on the characters of "Desperate Housewives." It
was sung by the shows creator, Marc Cherry. Bruce and I had fun
writing that one.

Barry,
After seeing the show in September, a lady asked me how old you
are. I said somewhere between 47 and 82. Is that right?
Chris
Hi Chris,
You are exactly correct.
Barry

Dear Barry,
Do you have plans to release another CD of new, previously unreleased
material for yourself anytime soon? I hope so - "Here at
the Mayflower" is a masterpiece, and is still as unique,
fresh, and inspired as when it was first released (can it be
4 years ago already??). I'm really looking forward to hearing
your next new creation! Thanks for the original music you've
shared with us and the original music yet to come!
Kelly
Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the kind words and the support. I'm terribly proud of "Here
at the Mayflower." We do a bit of the CD in our show these
days and even though most of the audience has never heard these
songs, they love the "Mayflower" section anyway. It always
makes me feel so good.
After recording CDs for as long as I have, record companies are
afraid to release new material unless there's some sort of concept
or hook to it. As of now the best sellers for artists like me are
standards; songs with titles that the public will recognize, no
matter how badly done they are!
The "Mayflower" catalogue took a lot of effort for many
years by many people, and I was fortunate that Concord Records
believed in me and released it. But it would be very difficult
to get a record company to do that again.
I've got some interesting ideas, however, about how to get you
and my many fans who request new, original material out to them.
So just try and be patient because I am working on a few things.
Thanks for being there.
Barry
